Deadline calculator
Three dates from one: when the month ends, when an extension notice has to go out, and where the extension takes you. Counted the way Union law counts a period in months, with every rule quoted beside the result.
What this does not do
It counts calendar days. A date that lands on a Saturday, a Sunday or a public holiday is shown as it falls, and it is not moved to the following working day. Which days are public holidays is set by each Member State, so applying that rule needs a calendar per country, which is the Handbook's work rather than this page's. Read every date below as the earliest the period could end.
It states the Regulation and nothing else. A Member State may restrict Article 15 by legislative measure and national law can change what a request turns on, so read the result against the Handbook record for the jurisdiction you are answering in.
It is arithmetic on the dates you typed. It is not advice about the request you are holding.

The rules applied
The controller provides information on the action taken without undue delay and in any event within one month of receipt of the request.
Regulation (EU) 2016/679, Article 12(3)The day on which the triggering event occurs is not counted in the period. A period expressed in months ends with the expiry of the day in the final month that falls on the same date as the day the period runs from, and where the final month has no such day it ends with the expiry of the last day of that month.
